* a path or way of life (through the door or gate)
* dangle (like the animal skin dangling down)
The Hebrew word 'dalet' agrees with the word picture as it literally means 'something moving back and forth' such as a door or a gate. Yeshua said in John 10:7,
"Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep,"
........and also in Matthew 7:13,
"Enter by the narrow gate...".
Let's take a look at some very interesting Hebrew words and names that start with the letter Dalet. As you will see, the meanings of the individual letters within the words actually describe the meaning of the word as it relates to prophecy. As I have said, this reveals the amazing spiritual phenomena of Hebrew that proves its divine nature, the existence of God, and that Jesus is the center of the language.
1. The Word (of Yahweh) : Davar – דבר
ד - Door
בר - Son (Bar)
דבר – The door of the Son
The Word (of Yahweh)
* Yeshua is THE WORD made flesh.
2. Breasts : Dad – דד
ד – Dangle (x2)
דד – The two danglers
BREASTS
From 'Dad' the Hebrew name 'David' is developed by the addition of the letter 'vav' - 'Dad' being the Hebrew root of 'David' and the root meaning and expression of the prophetic action of King David himself:
Beloved/Passion : David – דוד
דד – Breasts
ו – Hook
דוד – The breasts that hook
BELOVED / PASSION
* The part of the female body invoking passion and love in a man.
Hebrew is a functional/action language, hence the letters and words are rich in verbs, not adjectives. It is not the 'look' or image of the meaning of the words we are concerned with, but the character or action of them. Therefore, 'David' ('breasts') describes the character of the person of King David - he was beloved of Yahweh, and his reign was rooted in love. Since Yeshua is returning as 'King' on the eternal throne of David, in essence He will rule as 'King David' - the 'Beloved King', which is one of His messianic names.
3. Judge/Ruler : Dan – דן
ד – Door
ן/נ – Life
דן – The door to life = JUDGE / RULER
* The ancient Hebrew concept of a judge or ruler is one who had the power to bring 'life' by providing, or restoring, a pleasant and righteous life to his people. 'Lord' is further developed from the Hebrew root 'Dan':
Lord : Adon – אדן
א – First, chief, strong
דן – Judge/ruler
אדן – The chief judge/ruler
LORD
* Yeshua is the Judge, Ruler and Lord to come.
My Lord : Adoni – אדני
אדן – Adon – Lord
י – my
אדןי – My chief judge/ruler = MY LORD
Judge of God : Daniel – דנאל
דן - Judge אל - God
דנאל – Judge of God = DANIEL
Yeshua returns as the 'Judge of Yahweh' hence He is returning as 'Daniel,' and so 'Daniel' is also one of His messianic names.
